Girls dominated the Meru county KCSE top ten ranking after taking six positions with a girl from Kaaga Girls’ high school topping the list.
Mwenda Makandi Winnie scooped the top ten position in the County and position 54 in the national ranking with a performance index of 86. 646.
Mwirigi P. Muthoni from the same school came second with 85.697 while the top boy in the county, Muoki Antony Malile, came third with 85.384.
In the top ten ranking, girls took positions one, two, four, five, six and nine while the second best boy in the county, Japhet A Mugambi took the seventh position with 84.511.
The best school slot in the county went to Meru School with a performance index of 69.833 (B+) and was ranked position 18 out of 75 national schools and position 35 in the national ranking.
Ontulili Boys’ Secondary came second with 67.757 (B), managing position 17 among County Schools and position 56 nationally.
Burieruri Boys’ Secondary was placed third in the county with 67.333 (B), taking position 21 among county schools and position 61 nationally.
Meanwhile, Ontulili Boys Secondary which is fast rising to join the best schools in the region was ranked third nationally in the History subject with 13.502941 index while Burieruri was fourth nationally in Biology with 13.011052 points.
Position four in the county went to Nkubu Boys’ High School (64.324, B) followed by Kaaga Girls’ High School (63.060, B) in position five.
St Pius X Seminary made it to position 49 in the private schools ranking nationally with a performance index of 60.223 (B-).
In the district schools ranking, Igoki Boys’ Secondary was position 11 with 58.126, Ontulili Mixed Secondary scooped position 31 with 55.029, Gundua Day Secondary ranked position 34 with 54.21 and Karoe Mixed Day Secondary position 72 with a performance index of 50.586.
Under the County ranking, Meru County was position 26 out of 47 with a performance index of 31.453.
Out of 281 districts, Imenti South was ranked position 76, Igembe South (100), Buuri (106), Tigania East (155), Igembe North (168), Tigania West (173), Meru Central (185) and Imenti North position 194.
Only Gakando Girls’ Secondary school in Meru Central was found with examination irregularities.
